Sending Digital Certificates

Sending Digital Certificates

You can set up digital certificates to be sent out to students upon successful completion of their exam. This feature is not automatically available and will need to be switched on for individual instances of Rogo, if this is functionality you are interested in using, please contact   support@eintech.com for further details.

To configure the certificates, navigate to the relevant course containing the exercise you would like to send a certificate from and then view the settings of the exercise you would like to enable this on.

In the ‘Marking and Results’ section of the settings you can then select an email to send to students on pass and upload a word version of the digital certificate which will then be attached to this email. The uploaded word document will be converted to a PDF before being sent to the student.

You must select an ‘Email to student on Pass’ email for this to work, uploading the digital certificate alone will not enable this to be sent to students.

The digital certificate can also use some merge fields, which will allow user and attempt information to be displayed in the certificate; to do this you can include any of the below into the uploaded word document.

[CollegeNumber]

[Title]

[Firstname]

[Lastname]

[EmailAddress]

[CourseName]

[TutorName]

[ExerciseName]

[TimeAllowed]

[QuestionCount]

[PassPercent]

[Grade]

[MarksAvailable]

[MarksAwarded]

[Percentage]

[DeadlineDate]

[Session.Name]

[Session.StartDateTime]

Finally, ‘Save’ the settings at the bottom of the page and the certificate will be successfully applied.

How to add Merge Fields to certificates

You should also be able to use Merge Fields (i.e. [Firstname],[Lastname] etc.) within your digital certificate.

To do this, while in Word, got to the top of your screen and select the ‘Insert’ option.

Next, select the ‘Quick Parts’ button and select ‘Field’

Next, scroll down the list and select the ‘Merge Field’.

Next, type in the merge field you require (without the brackets) under ‘Field name’

Finally, select ‘OK’ and the merge field will be created.
