Releasing Results to Students

There are a few ways in which results can be released to students, this would also depend on how the script would be marked.

Auto-marked
For auto-marked scripts, ones which only include questions which can be marked by the system, you have two options on releasing the results.

You can choose to release the results to the student straight away, this would be the default option, in this case they would see their results as soon as they submit the paper. Or you can queue the scripts for manual verification, this will send the scripts to the approval needed queue in the marking area and you can then choose when to approve the scripts which will release the results to the students.

If you do want to manually verify the scripts, you also have the option to choose a number of days to mark, you wouldn’t be held to this date by the system, however it would give the student an indication on when they would receive their results.

Human Marked
With human marked scripts, a student would receive their results as soon as the marker clicks on ‘Finish Marking and release results’, if they have permission to do so.

If a marker only has the permission to ‘Finish Marking’ then their scripts will go into the approval needed queue from where an admin user could approve scripts individually or on bulk. Once approved the student would then receive their results.

Emails
You can send ‘Exercise Attempt’ emails to students depending on whether they pass or fail their exam with any of the flows above, these emails would be sent to them as soon as their scripts have been approved. For more information on creating email templates see: https://help-guide.eintech.com/emails.

Hide results from ‘My Results’
If you didn’t want to use the approval needed queue as a holding area for scripts but still wanted to release the results on a given date, you could use the ‘Hide results from ‘My Results’’ checkbox in the exercise settings. You could then un-check this setting on the results day and enable students to view their results within Rogo.
