Pausing enhancements

We’ve introduced several enhancements to the exam pausing experience, giving candidates more clarity and control.

Confirmation modal

A new confirmation modal has been introduced to support more deliberate and informed pausing. When a candidate chooses to pause their exam, the modal prompts them to confirm the action before it takes effect. It displays a breakdown of their pause usage, including:

  • Maximum time allowed for pauses
  • Time already spent on pauses
  • Time remaining for future pauses

The exam will only pause once the candidate confirms by selecting “Pause Exam.” If they change their mind, they can cancel the action directly from the modal.

This feature helps prevent unintentional pauses and provides candidates with a clearer understanding of how much pause time they’ve used and what’s left.

Please note: This feature is available on request. If you would like to enable it for your candidates, please contact support@eintech.com.

Remaining pause time information

In addition to the modal, candidates will now see a live display of their remaining pause time while their exam is paused. This visibility aids better exam time management. Additionally, this change is universal.

Additional question bank permissions

We have introduced new, more granular permissions for the Question Bank to improve content security and give you greater control over who can manage exam material.

The existing “Release and Archive question” permission has been split into two distinct permissions: “Release question” and “Archive question.” Both are still located within the Question Bank permission category.

This change allows you to assign these actions independently, giving you the flexibility to grant users only the access they need.

To ensure a smooth experience, we’ve implemented a check during the update process. Any users who previously had the combined permission will automatically be granted both the new “Release question” and “Archive question” permissions. No manual updates are needed on your end.

Spreadsheet Classic Deprecation

As part of a phased approach to ensuring that all clients are using the Spreadsheet Advanced question type, it will now not be possible to release a Spreadsheet Classic question, nor release a paper containing a Spreadsheet Classic question. Please get in touch at support@eintech.com if you have any further questions about this.
